Health Benefits

  • Nutrient-rich: It is an excellent source of essential minerals, particularly calcium, manganese, magnesium and iron. It provides a relatively equal balance of carbohydrates, protein, and fat.
  • Bone health: May prevent osteoporosis. Manganese in calcium activates enzymes that produce proteins necessary for the formation of bone tissue and cartilage. Calcium in Celery may assist in improving bone density. The magnesium and phosphorus in calcium are two minerals that support bone density. 1
  • Skeletal system: It may relieve arthritis and joint inflammation. Studies show that it is at least as effective as aspirin, ibuprofen, and naproxen in suppressing arthritis by acting as an analgesic and anti-inflammatory agent. 2 It may reduce swelling rate in gouty arthritis. 3 It may prevent the development of osteoarthritis. 4
  • Circulatory system: Extracts of celery seed may reduce systolic and diastolic blood pressure. 5
  • Digestive system: Reduce gastric irritations, inflammation and the risk of stomach ulcers due to its inhibitory effects on Helicobacter pylori bacteria. 6
  • Metabolic Syndrome: Celery seed may have a beneficial effect on metabolic syndrome. Metabolic syndrome is a cluster of multiple conditions that include hypertension, dyslipidemia, abdominal obesity, and hyperglycemia disorders. 7
  • Urinary system and kidney health: Celery is a natural diuretic that reduces water retention and prevents urinary tract infections. Aspeganin is a flavonoid in celery that assists in breaking down calcium crystals. 8
  • Red blood cell formation: The iron in Celery is important in producing red blood cells and may prevent anaemia. Red blood cells deliver oxygen from your lungs to other parts of your body.
  • Blood sugar balance: Celery may reduce the risk of type-2 diabetes. The magnesium in Celery plays a vital role in blood sugar control and helps increase your cell’s response to insulin.
  • Sexual dysfunction: May increase markers of female sexual dysfunction. 9 It may improve sexual function among women by increasing sexual desire, arousal, and lubrication and by relieving pain during intercourse. 10
  • Skin: Celery has anti-aging properties. It may reduce acne and pimples by removing oiliness and acting as an anti-inflammatory. The vitamins, especially vitamin C and antioxidants, in celery juice may promote healthy skin by supporting collagen production. It prevents/cures hyperpigmentation of the skin. 11
  • Mosquito repellent: Celery extract in an oil or gel base repels mosquitos for up to 4 hours.
  • Protect against cancer: It may assist with the treatment of cancer by inducing the apoptosis of cancer cells.
  • Properties: Analgesic, antibacterial, antimicrobial, antioxidant, anticancer, antidiabetic, insect repellent, and anti-inflammatory.
  • The active ingredients are beta-carotene, vitamin C, manganese, apigenin, phenolic acids, flavones, flavanols, limonene, luteolin, coumarin, and isocnidilide.

Contraindications: Do not take in large amounts or extracts during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
